If you ever wonder where the streets lead us & where we have been

the red dot is where we are

As you can see, there are more countries we haven’t seen than the ones we’ve been to. But even if we have already been to a country, that does not necessarily mean that we have spent enough time in it to see everything. Australia is a good example. We had only spent four weeks there and drove from Sydney to Melbourne. Seen from Australia, there can be no question here. It was just enough to make us fall in love with this wonderful and gigantic country and continent. We will come back with more (much more) time.

There are 195 countries in the world. This includes the Vatican and the State of Palestine. The last two have no voice in the United Nations. Taiwan (China), the Cook Islands and Niue (NZ) would also be added.

where we are heading & plans

Where are you going next? A question that we usually don’t know either. We have put our original plan to continue south to Panama on hold. The reason for this is the unsafe situation and high crime rate in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, which are partly due to the troublesome Covid restrictions. Since the country and its people have lost business, houses, and farms, general street crime has increased. The conflicts in the area of gang crime also seem to have increased. There is a general risk of robberies in tourist centers such as Antigua, Flores, Tikal, and Lake Atitlán. Those were exactly our main goals. We are in contact with a large number of travelers and ex-pats who have been/are still traveling or living in these countries.

Because of these reports and the severe poverty that has accelerated to an unimaginable degree due to Covid restrictions, we thought it was not a good idea to show up with a large truck with Texas number plates. We could just as easily put a large sign on our Pepe “ATM”.

So we decided to explore Mexico in the next few months, still unknown to us.
